Holiday Chex Mix

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Corn Chex

  • 12 oz Rice Chex

  • 11.7 oz Golden Grahams

  • 1 cup shredded or chipped coconut

  • 1 cup slivered almonds

  • 1 1⁄2 cup butter

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 cups light karo syrup

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine cereals

  2. Place almonds and coconut in a baking dish and toast at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden

  3. In a large saucepan melt butter, then add sugar and karo. Bring to a boil and boil 4-7 minutes (chewier on the low end, crunchier on the high end)

  4. While the syrup is boiling, spread out two long sheets of parchment (we spray with cooking spray)

  5. Remove from heat and carefully pour into cereal, incorporating as quickly and safely as you can. Add nuts and coconut and continue folding in until evenly distributed

  6. Pour out onto parchment and let it cool or you will burn your tongue and that is the worst!
